For centuries, composing designs on book covers with finishing tools has been the primary means by which hand made books are decorated. From the hand-filed tapered shank to the engraved details of the design, each and every tool is completely made by hand by Brien. The shanks are set in hand turned tapered hardwood handles for comfortable grip, and the face of each tool is slightly domed to ensure a crisp impression.
