Colophon Book Arts Supply is owned and operated by Mary Uthuppuru in Bloomington, Indiana. It is primarily an online retail store serving the unique and widespread book arts community composed of beginning students to advanced professionals that practice, teach, and study making books by hand. Colophon serves the needs of this diverse group with an extensive stock of tools and materials for bookbinding, marbling and their related disciplines, and maintains an intimate connection with its customers that has been fostered for years. Through individualized correspondence during the ordering process and personal connections at professional events, Colophon seeks to provide its customers with quality tools and materials that will inspire them to make great work.

Mary Uthuppuru began her career as a conservation technician at the Lilly Library, and in 2010, became a full time book artist and book binder working under the name Spring Leaf Press at her home studio in Bloomington, Indiana. She creates artist books, bindings, boxes, and prints inspired by science, literature and nature. Mary took on the role as the owner of Colophon Book Arts Supply in 2017.

It is with great sadness that I share the news of Don Guyot's passing this September of 2020. Don's contributions to the book arts community are hard to quantify and will be remembered by all who knew him as an instructor, colleague, and friend. It is an honor to carry on the legacy of the shop he founded.
